Day 4 – Iceplant – Variations
Two to show you today! I went out with the intention of taking this one which I must admit, I really like. It’s an iceplant also known as a sedum spectabile and it’s particularly lush this year after being cut back very hard in the early Spring.
But whilst I was shooting, I noticed these little honey bees busily gathering nectar and pollen so to add a bit of interest, I tried to shoot them on the flat flowerheads. Manouvering a stubby tripod around fast enough to catch these little guys at work must have looked very funny to my neighbours! I fell backwards at one point as I was scrooched down so low and lost my balance! Luckily I kept a tight grip on my camera so no harm done – except to my dignity.
